A LASTING PARTNERSHIP
The TUDOR Pelagos FXD "Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition" models represent a unique collaboration that goes beyond just a timepiece.
Since 2022, TUDOR and Alinghi Red Bull Racing have embarked on a long-term partnership, marking the watch brand's debut in the world of sailing competitions.
BORN FOR RACING
The matte-finished dials are the same color as the AC75 hull, prioritizing maximum legibility.
Both models are presented in the Alinghi Red Bull Racing team's signature blue, with a red-tipped seconds hand.
In the chronograph model, red accents are also found around the counters, echoing the design of the AC75, particularly the red stripes on the hull. The subtle "Alinghi Red Bull Racing" inscription is placed on the rehaut at a 45° angle, between 10 and 2 o'clock. The "Snowflake" hands and square hour markers, iconic symbols of TUDOR since the 1960s, are crafted from luminescent composite ceramic to ensure perfect legibility even in the most challenging conditions.
A STRAP INSPIRED BY THE SEA
The fabric loop strap is a signature of TUDOR, which was one of the pioneers in introducing it in 2010.
Crafted on traditional jacquard looms by Julien Faure, a French company from St-Étienne, the strap stands out for its high quality, durability, and comfort.
For the Pelagos FXD models, TUDOR and Julien Faure have developed a high-tech strap. Made of "Team Blue" jacquard fabric with red accents, it is 22 mm wide, featuring a titanium "D" buckle and a hook-and-loop fastening, designed to fit wrists of all sizes while providing optimal comfort.
MANUFACTURE CHRONOGRAPH MOVEMENT MT5813
The Manufacture Caliber MT5813 powering the Pelagos FXD Chrono model offers hour, minute, second, chronograph functions, and a date display. It also features the matte finish characteristic of all TUDOR Manufacture Calibers and the distinctive open-worked monobloc tungsten rotor.
With a "weekend-proof" 70-hour power reserve and a silicon balance spring, the Manufacture Chronograph Caliber MT5813 is certified as a "Chronometer" by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Its performance exceeds the standards set by this independent body, offering a precision of –2 to +4 seconds per day in a fully assembled watch.
This high-performance movement, with a column wheel and vertical clutch, embodies the most sophisticated watchmaking tradition. Its robustness and reliability, ensured by the rigorous testing applied to all the brand's products, reaffirm TUDOR's philosophy of offering watches of the highest quality.
MANUFACTURE CALIBER MT5602
The Manufacture Caliber MT5602 powering the Pelagos FXD displays hours, minutes, and seconds. The open-worked monobloc tungsten rotor is visible, with bridges and a mainplate featuring a mix of sandblasted and polished surfaces, along with laser decorations.
The variable inertia balance, supported by a robust traversing bridge with two fixation points, ensures stability and precision. The anti-magnetic silicon balance spring allows the COSC-certified Manufacture Caliber MT5602 to perform beyond the standards set by this independent body, ensuring a precision of -2/+4 seconds per day in a fully assembled watch.
Another key feature is its "weekend-proof" power reserve. This means that the watch can be taken off on Friday evening and put back on Monday morning without requiring a wind, ensuring that the watch is always ready for use.
