Quorum corresponds to the number of electors necessary in making a decision valid.
In 1955, at La Chaux-de-Fonds, two of them were enough. René Banwart and his uncle Gaston Ries found their Brand and choose to name it Corum, an orthographic simplification of the Latin word Quorum. An entrepreneurial spirit and a hunger for discovery soon became the characteristics of the founders’ conduct. Subsequently, they chose the symbol of a key turned over towards the sky. This also serves as a warning to the watchmaker: time flies by relentlessly and it takes inventiveness, perseverance and audacity to fight this in the best of ways.
